That's it from the first match of the double-header Sunday. KKR's third win in a row keeps those above them on the points table on their toes. But they're still eighth, and have a long way to go before they threaten their competitors for a place in the playoffs. For now, though, you can switch over to GT vs PBKS. Until next time, it's goodnight!
Varun Chakravarthy is the Player of the Match, and he's still hobbling: "It's just the impact pain. Still I'm not able to put my foot fully down. He hit it very fast, and I had to stop it as he hit it very straight; otherwise it would've been a four. I've been saying this every year. When the IPL starts, the first four matches are going to be flat wickets. Because Head was extending his hands very well, I didn't want him to do that. The guys are coming together. Nice to see the batting group finish it this way. We can make a serious dent in the IPL."
Ajinkya Rahane: "It was a good wicket to bat on. I thought 190-200 would have been difficult to chase. Credit to our bowlers. They kept on taking wickets. The bowling unit has been doing really well. Credit goes to our bowling coaches. It's all about planning and executing. As long as you're clear in your head, that's important. Going into the break, the victory was very important. We lost those five matches, but the atmosphere was calm. We kept it really cool. Really happy for Varun. The way he came back was amazing. Works really hard. Great attitude. He has been bowling in the tough situations. I'm sure he'll continue his performance."
Time for the presentations
Shameer: "So Finn Allen is MoM?" --- I would go for Varun.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi: "I'm just happy we won. When I was walking back, I saw my coach shaking his head with the way I got out. It just got very easy after Finn and Ajinkya gave us the start. Not worry about the previous game too much. Just go and try to enjoy the game. When I was a kid, I used to dream of this. It's just me living the dream. So many stars to learn from. I was trying to hit straight back over his [the bowler's] head. Maybe if I went inside out, I would connect. In a long tournament, that [a dip in form] happens."
Pat Cummins: "Not our best day. We got off to a pretty good start. From where we were, we should have found a way to get 200 or 180. You've just got to adapt. Our first eight or ten overs were excellent. I think 180 or something like that [was par]. It did dry up. We dragged it right to the end. There's only little moments that can make the difference."
7.02pm The win should have come much earlier, but KKR eventually get there in more than 18 overs. That's three wins in a row for them, and they break SRH's streak of five victories in a row. KKR had blazed away to 71 in the powerplay, and you thought they would hunt 166 down with at least five overs remaining. But that was not to be. Raghuvanshi and Rahane batted patiently on a slow pitch where the ball gripped, and took their side to a smooth win.
KKR one hit away. Malinga back for SRH.
