11.45pm Right, then. The derby ends with CSK fans firmly in possession of the bragging rights. We saw some stunning batting from Samson today, and then a brilliant bowling display to deny Mumbai Indians even a sniff. CSK were on top of the chase from the very first over, and it's led to a commanding win. Join us tomorrow for more IPL action. For now, on behalf of Ashish Pant, Thilak Ram and everyone else, it's Abhimanyu signing off. Night!

11.35pm Time for the presentation ceremony.

The player of the match is Sanju Samson: "Really feels great to score a century at the Wankhede against MI. Definitely a special moment for me and the team. I am trying to keep things simple. Today the wicket wasn't a normal Wankhede wicket. The ball was holding. So from there it was just about assessing what the team needed to do. We were losing few wickets so I thought it was important for a settled batsman to stay and that's what I tried and that's what happened today. The game tells you what to do. You don't have to come with a preconceived mindset or premeditate that this is how I play and this is what I do. It is my responsibility to understand the game situation and what the team demands and plan around it. If we didn't have a fall of wickets, I'd have gone a bit more earlier, but with the fall of wickets it was important to finish well. It's a very young team but the character and attitude we have shown, even after three losses in the team, is very commanding. We want to build from here. But we know every team is very strong and have intensity, so we just have to enjoy what's going on at the moment."

Ruturaj Gaikwad: "[On Mukesh] Pretty tough on him. Hats off to him, coming in that situation it takes a lot mentally. He came back for the team, for the franchise because he knew we needed him. All glory to him. We all wanted to be there for him and chipped away for him. [How does the win feel?] Feels good. I was still 50-50 at the toss. My gut feeling was saying we should bat first because it was a bit green but also a bit dry. We had to assess in the first couple of overs. Me and Sanju said it's not coming on nicely so anywhere around 200 would be good. And then Akeal and Noor did well. Everyone chipped in well. Sanju also played a magnificent knock. He's been in fantastic touch. And our bowling was improving from our earlier games. I feel we are just starting to click. [On the bowling] I think we are headed in a direction where we are trying to cover all bases. Mukesh to get that wicket early set the momentum. And Anshul is always doing well. Jamie, whenever the wicket has pace and bounce, Jamie and Gurjapneet are the ones who can take wickets in the middle. Everyone is settling and getting in their roles and know what to do. [Returning to Chepauk] Got to start from zero, start from assessing again. We enjoy this win but keep it aside and make sure we're ready for the next one."

Hardik Pandya: "The powerplay, losing early wickets it's always going to be tricky. We couldn't cope after that. We should have just batted better. They batted on the same pitch. Just that Sanju played an outstanding knock and their batters kept coming and chipping away to a decent total. For us to chase it down we had to have a good powerplay and have the momentum but it didn't work out. [On changing personnel] That will be the chat, going back to the drawing board and seeing what we can do."

Akeal Hosein: "The wicket was offering both. Some were swinging and gripping as well. So I wanted to use the conditions. That was definitely the plan, to stay on the stumps. If they hit you off the stumps, then kudos to them. I think one thing that sticks with me is what Dwayne Bravo says. That if you're going to bowl in the powerplay you're going to hit so you have to get that out of your mind. [On Noor Ahmad] Always a pleasure to see Noor doing his thing. Happy to see him successful again tonight."

11.25pm A sensational individual effort with the bat from Sanju Samson was followed up with a brilliant team display with the ball as CSK hammered Mumbai Indians by 103 runs. It's MI's worst defeat in the IPL and also the first time they've slumped to three consecutive defeats at the Wankhede in a single season. Samson was the architect with his unbeaten 101, when everyone around him was reduced to cameos at best. Then Akeal Hosein led the bowling display, finishing with a four-wicket haul, while Noor Ahmad's two wickets in two balls also helped kill off the chase. It was an emotional day for Mukesh Choudhary as well, who picked an early wicket, playing just days after his mother's passing. The win has fired CSK up to fifth, while Mumbai Indians' momentum is halted after just one win.
