Quite a mysterious collapse in the end for Bangalore. Things were going along so smoothly while Jaffer and Taylor were going along but the match really turned in the 15th over. Wickets fell steadily and it was a double breakthrough by Amarnath - sending back Taylor and Jaffer - which turned the game in Chennai's favour. Bangalore choked under pressure, the experienced pair of Boucher and Kallis failed to stick around and Bangalore choked. Chennai maintained their cool and Dhoni should take credit for this.
We've got a lot of mails from you all slamming Misbah's absence. I have to agree too. Misbah's a success at this level and Bangalore could have taken the chance with him, instead of Kallis maybe.
The firm of Hayden, Hussey and Oram will leave this country undefeated.
Here's Dravid: "I thought we were in control till the 18th over. We failed to get the big over and lost too many wickets. These are the games we should win. We just made too many wickets."
Dhoni is the Man of the Match: "Most of the guys won't agree with this but we started shining the ball only after the 15th over and that's when we started getting wickets. It was swinging a bit and was getting difficult to slog. Hussey started it all and we both got together and added those crucial runs towards the end. Gony was impressive, he bowled a lot of slower balls. I am thankful that the guys are responding very well."
Dhoni was the first million dollar pick in the player auctions and he has justified that in his dual role as player and captain. SuperKings are the team to beat and it will be interesting to see how they perform now after the Trans-Tasman trio depart.
Do join us for Mumbai Indians v Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens tomorrow. Thanks for your company and the mails of course. On behalf of our scorers Raju and Sajan, this is Kanishkaa signing off. Cheers!
