7.25pm Right, that'll do for today. It's been a bit damp in Cardiff. But we just about got a contest! From Miller, Alan and Vairavan, good night! Tune in on Wednesday for the start of the T20Is, and the countdown to the main event, on June 12...

Time for some presentations

The player of the match is Brooke Halliday: "The biggest thing was to build a partnership with Maddy. Watch the ball and go from there. Hit it as late as possible, as a left-hander the bowler had to adjust. Had to not lose another wicket and the way Izzy Gaze did that was really good."

The player of the series is Maddy Green: "Just try to be positive and apply some pressure. Wicket doing a bit, Brooke batted beautifully. Nice to contribute and to get the win today is cool for the girls. Good place with our 50-over cricket, hope to carry that into the T20s. I'm older and wiser, in a good place with my batting."

England captain Charlie Dean: "I guess batting first on a day like today is tricky to manage, adjusting tempo after planning for 50 overs is hard. Alice and Freya batted remarkably well together, but shortened overs you want to accelerate. DLS and wickets in hand is tricky. Wickets was how we'd get back into the game, manipulating that as best as possible, but Bell bowled remarkably up top. I've enjoyed the captaincy, the girls have supported me."

NZ captain Melie Kerr: "A win today to level the series... any time you win against a quality England side is pleasing. At 40 for 3 on a tricky wicket, absorbed that pressure, brilliant to watch. Points for the World Cup are important for us, hopefully to qualify.

On Suzie Bates: "The cricket Gods looked after us, winning the toss and getting the win. We're the lucky ones to have seen the impact she's had on the group, every player growing up looked up to Suzie, she'll be an incredible loss when she finally steps away."

7.13pm All over red rover. New Zealand win by 17 runs on DLS, and the series finishes all-square.

7.08pm The players are heading out to sign some autographs, which is nice to see. But the big covers are on the square, and that cut-off is looming large. I think this one is cooked.

Hard to know what to read into this one, or this series as a whole really. England have had their moments, Bell in particular here. But there's a frailty, particularly in their fielding, that doesn't augur wonderfully for the World Cup. Either way, 1-1 is a fair reflection of this series, as the T20Is await.

6.55pm Rain stops play! The umpires have surrendered to the inevitable. It's grim, and though there's still time until the 7.30pm cut-off time, it's unlikely we'll get a resumption here. New Zealand are officially ahead on DLS

Bell to Halliday, FOUR, on the front foot, firm drive, wonderfully timed, and despite a full-length dive from Kemp, the ball deflects off her palm and still rolls to the rope

Right, here we go. Back comes Bell. She has two more overs, and they might just be used up right now

At 24 overs, par is 121/4 or 127/5 if England can break through. So they are starting to need snookers
