Toro Rosso is in talks with a sponsor to rebrand its Renault engines for the 2017 season like sister team Red Bull.
Red Bull ran its Renault engines under the TAG-Heuer brand in 2016 after an acrimonious fall-out the year before, an arrangement which will continue into next season. Toro Rosso ran year-old Ferrarn power units throughout this season but will have up-to-date Renault engines next year.
Team boss Franz Tost says it is possible the team will run those engines under a different name last year.
"We have the possibility to find a title sponsor to rebrand our 2017 engine, as Red Bull did last year," Tost told Gazzetta dello Sport. "We're in talks with a sponsor."
Tost says Toro Rosso will reveal its 2017 challenger -- which has already conducted crash tests -- at a filming day in Barcelona before winter testing starts at the Circuit de Catalunya on February 27.
"We're respecting the road map. We did crash tests and we'll do a filming day with the new car before the start of the winter test at Barcelona."
