23.47 BST Blackburn boss Steve Kean is hopeful the club can sign Colin Kazim-Richards on loan from Galatasaray. He told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We've got Colin with us for a few days and we're hopeful we can do something. We've put in a bid and we'll see if that's accepted from his club.”
23.31 BST Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni offers his musings on the club’s potential signings: “I think it’s important that we focus on players who are useful and functional. The characteristics of the team go beyond a single name.
“I would see a problem if a player arrived who did not function in the way we play. When the first name on the list fades it is not a problem. What is important is that the players who do arrive are functional. I would be worried if by August 31 the players with the characteristics I am after have not arrived, but I’m not worried at this time.”
23.18 BST Speaking of non-EU spots, the point has been raised on Twitter that AC Milan - with the arrival of Cristian Zapata - no longer have space in the squad for the Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko. Although, as PSG will demonstrate at some point before January, they could just sell another non-EU player.
23.12 BST PSG need to free up a non-EU spot ahead of the arrival of Lucas Moura in January, and L’Equipe thinks they could send Serbian defender Milan Bisevac to Lyon with right-back Anthony Reveillere heading in the opposite direction.
22.57 BST It hasn’t stopped Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta talking about it this week, but Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova says discussing a potential deal for Arsenal midfielder Alex Song would not be decorous. “As a coach, I prefer not to talk about players of other clubs,” he said. “That would be a lack of respect.”

21.26 BST Arsenal are reportedly keen on 22-year-old Anderlecht midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate but the club’s general manager, Herman van Holsbeeck, told Het Laatste Nieuws: "There has been no bid for him.
"We know some clubs have looked at him and he has been in the spotlight. I don't see anybody leaving, but if he leaves it would be for a lot of money - but Kouyate cannot move to the Premier League because he has not played matches for Senegal."

A brief statement on their official website read: "Villarreal and Milan have reached an agreement to transfer Cristian Zapata for this season. Thus the Colombian defender will return to play in Italian football with the Rossoneri."
16.35 BST: DONE DEAL Stoke have confirmed the signing of Michael Kightly from Wolves for an undisclosed fee. Story here.
16.20 BST Cristian Zapata could be on his way back to Italy from Villarreal – reports say he has had a medical at AC Milan and will complete a transfer worth around €6 million.
16.16 BST Sevilla are reported to be signing Alberto Botia from Sporting Gijon. He is believed to have undergone a medical, but there is no confirmation of a deal as yet.
16.14 BST Kilmarnock – it’s where a lot of former Real Madrid youth players tend to end up. And sure enough, former Real Madrid youth player Borja Perez is hoping to earn a contract from manager Kenny Shiels after arriving on trial.
16.01 BST Blackburn boss Steve Kean has praised Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes as “a quality player”, saying Rovers remain in the frame to sign him. Kean said: "I don't know what will happen now - I will leave that in the hands of the directors and see how that develops."
15.59 BST - DONE DEAL Oldham boss Paul Dickov has dipped into the transfer market again, this time signing teenage striker Jordan Slew from Blackburn on a six-month loan deal.
15.16 BST - DONE DEAL Northampton Town have signed Liverpool’s academy graduate striker Henoc Mukendi, 18, on loan until January.
15.05 BST Alan Pardew has said Newcastle will need to play a waiting game when it comes to transfer deals. He Toon boss has struggled to land many of his main summer targets, but told the Evening Chronicle: “My message would just be to be patient. We’ve got a great side, and a great underbelly to the team. If we add one or two, or even three, we’ll have a great squad.”
14.45 BST Swansea are holding talks with Kaiserslautern striker Itay Shechter over a season-long loan deal.
14.32 BST Alvaro Pereira's agent is to hold talks with Porto amid increasing speculation that the defender is on his way to Chelsea. "We are due to hold an important meeting with Porto, but I do not want to speculate on what the outcome will be," Alejandro Savich told Maisfutebol.
14.23 BST Queens Park Rangers are one of the Premier League teams keeping a close eye on Dynamo Kiev's Yevhen Khacheridi.
14.07 BST De Telegraaf reports that Oussama Assaidi is on his way to Ajax, with the Eredivisie champions having reached an agreement with Heerenveen over his move.
13.59 BST Our man in the North says Houston Dynamo defender Geoff Cameron has been granted a UK work permit ahead of his proposed move to Stoke City.
13.45 BST Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is thought to have asked about the availability of Swansea midfielder Stephen Dobbie when the two clubs played each other in a pre-season friendly.
13.06 BST Younes Kaboul has dismissed talk that he could be leaving Tottenham, telling L’Equipe: “I have four years remaining on my contract at Tottenham and, more importantly, I am happy here and in England. There is a new challenge here and a new coach, who has been working very well.”
13.05 BST Here’s Valntijn Driessen, of Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, on two possible Newcastle signings. On Gregory Van Der Wiel (Ajax right-back): “I can imagine he has been offered [to Newcastle]. Now they [Ajax] can make money from him, next season they can’t.”
On Anita: “He is coming from the youth of Ajax - they are not the best paid players. Since 10 days ago, he has a new agent, Mina Raiola, and he wants to sell players.”
12.24 BST Spain international Javi Martinez’s agent has said the Athletic Bilbao midfielder wants to move to Bayern Munich. Sport 1 quoted Ersin Akan as saying: "He wants to go to Bayern, and Bayern are still interested in signing him.
"I know that they still want him, but the transfer fee is a problem. He's just waiting to see how things pan out, but he would like it if the transfer takes place. I'd say chances that it will go ahead are 50-50 now."
12.15 BST - DONE DEAL Hoffenheim have completed the signing of Real Madrid's Joselu. Joselu, 22, who was born in Stuttgart, has signed a four-year deal and coach Marks Babbel said: “Joselu has shown his class at Real. He is still a young player and has a lot of potential. He fits into Hoffenheim and the team perfectly."
12.12 BST West Brom are optimistic that Swedish international defender Jonas Olsson, coming towards the end of his current Hawthorns deal, will sign a new contract.
11.20 BST Wolves have rubbished reports that they have accepted a £12 million Sunderland bid for striker Steven Fletcher. "Rumours that we have accepted a bid from Sunderland are incorrect," chief executive Jez Moxey told the Express & Star. "They want the player, but we haven't accepted anything."
11.15 BST - DONE DEALS Defenders Carl Regan and Tom Williams have joined Notts County on six-month contracts. Both were free agents. Manager Keith Curle explained: "They have had a long pre-season with us, and have signed on six-month contracts purely because of the finances.
"But if more money becomes available, and if they perform, there is an opportunity to extend that for a minimum of a season.”
11.15 BST - DONE DEAL More Huddersfield: they have completed the signing of Anthony Gerrard from Cardiff City. The defender has joined for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year deal.
Grayson told the Terriers’ official website: "We've worked very hard to seal his signature amid a lot of competition from other clubs."
11.11 BST Simon Grayson believes striker Jordan Rhodes – who has been linked with Blackburn, Fulham and Reading, would be better off staying with newly-promoted Huddersfield in the Championship.
"I do think another year in the Championship will be the best thing that can happen to Jordan," Grayson told the Yorkshire Post. "I am not saying Jordan couldn't make it in the Premier League if someone comes in. He has always scored goals at whatever level.
"But I have seen it happen a few times where a player leaves the Championship to go to the Premier League and then only plays a dozen games, or spends most of their time coming off the bench.”
11.08 BST Let's have a Modric moment. Why not?
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has set the price for the Croatian midfielder at around £40 million, though £35 million (plus success-dependent add-on clauses) would be enough to clinch the deal.
But Real are refusing to bid that high and have told Levy that their latest offer will be their last - meaning Spurs are now "stuck" with the unhappy Modric as there are no other clubs willing to meet the North Londoners' valuation.
11.04 BST Hull boss Steve Bruce says he’s not quite finished in the transfer market yet and could add a couple of new faces before he season begins next weekend.
"Are we ready? As managers we always want a little bit more and I'll keep knocking," he told the Hull Daily Mail. "I would like to bring a couple in if I could, but I might have to wait on that. There's two or three weeks to go [of the transfer window], so we'll see what we can do.”
10.35 BST Ally McCoist is hoping to add striker Craig Beattie to his newly-burgeoning Ibrox ranks, saying: "We'll see if we can push that one forward. Craig's certainly someone we have been looking at.”
10.33 BST Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the Merseysiders have held talks with Cardiff City about a return to Wales for Craig Bellamy.
10.15 BST Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente has reportedly told the club he wants to leave to play Champions League football, with Serie A holders Juventus poised to make a €20 million offer.
Llorente, 27, has made up his mind to reject a new contract offer and move on, according to Basque TV station ETB.
09.18 BST He may have been linked with a move to Stoke, and been encouraged to make that move by Peter Crouch, but Norman Hubbard can't help wondering where - if anywhere - Michael Owen's career is going.
09.14 BST Wolves winger Michael Kightly is reportedly due to have a medical at Stoke today, meaning his move to the Potteries could be confirmed before the end of the day.
09.14 BST The world of Luka Modric to Madrid continues to rumble on without any end in sight. AS speculates that Tottenham are preparing to sign €20m-rated Partizan Belgrade midfielder Medo Kamara as a replacement, but there is still no sign of a North London/Spain meeting of minds on a Modric transfer fee.
09.01 BST Striker Akpo Sodje, who is on trial at Preston North End, could move to Norwegian club Brann, according to reports. He is available on a free transfer after leaving Chinese side Tianjin Teda.
08.48 BST Norwich manager Chris Hughton says Nottingham Forest have made no official contact with Carrow Road officials to register their reported interest in defender Elliott Ward.
He also said he believed Ward’s defensive colleague Daniel Ayala, on loan at Forest for the season, had a big future at Norwich, adding: “”I wasn’t interested in selling him. He has gone out on loan to a good club with a good manager that will certainly play a good, attractive passing game. But he has also gone to a club where there is a bit of pressure.
“They have got high expectations, the Forest supporters. They have brought in new players and they have new owners so it was important for me he went somewhere with that pressure. They are a club who want to have a go in the division, and that played a part in it as well.”
08.43 BST Israel international striker Itay Schechter could be heading for Swansea City, with reports suggesting that the 25-year-old could move to Wales on a season-long loan from Kaiserslautern.
08.39 BST Hamburg are set sign former Wigan midfielder Paul Scharner on a two-year deal, reports in Germany say. Kicker magazine says Hamburg are also interested in doing a loan deal for Genoa’s Chile international Cristobal Jorquera.
08.34 BST Winger Juan Manuel Vargas, linked with a switch to Liverpool, has said he hopes to stay at Fiorentina despite his agent having earlier called an Anfield move “an option”.
08.30 BST Craig Bellamy, in possible tribute to Ron Knee, is tight-lipped about the possibility of making a return to Cardiff, saying that he is taking things “day by day”.
The 33-year-old Liverpool forward is expected to join the Bluebirds in the next few days, but told the South Wales Echo: "Look, you know me better than to expect me to talk publicly about that. I've no immediate plans at the moment. What will be, will be."
08.28 BST And in other news from the Reebok, reports suggest that Bolton have turned down a bid from Swansea, believed to be £5 million, for midfielder Mark Davies. The news that the Swans are in the market for a midfielder can only add to the continuing swirl of speculation about Joe Allen and his future – is Liverpool beckoning? Will we ever, ever find out?
08.25 BST Valenciennes midfielder Carlos Sanchez won’t be going to Bolton - Owen Coyle is not impressed with what the Colombia international, available on a free transfer, is demanding. The Wanderers manager said: “There was no point meeting with the player because of the demands they had put forward. They were far and away beyond our means and, I've got to say, would be out of the reach of a lot of top six clubs as well.”
He has accused the player and his agent of having changed their demands after the Championship club had made initial inquiries earlier in the summer.
