Occurring during last week's Iranian second-division tie between Nassaji Mazandaran and Shahrdari Yasuj, here we see one of Yasuj's substitutes doing his team-mates a solid following a catastrophic defensive mix-up by rushing into the goalmouth and making a truly heroic (though sadly extremely illegal) goal-line clearance from directly underneath his own crossbar.
Very commendable that he still chose to use his head rather than his hands to make the save. We can admire a man with principles!
For the record, the interfering substitute was sent off by the perplexed referee while Nassaji were given a free kick inside the box rather than a goal -- a free kick that was, in turn, blocked on the goal line once again by a Yasuj defender using nothing but his face.
Not that it mattered much in the end, as Nassaji still went on to win the game 2-0, despite the outbreak of madness on show.
