Which trade rumors make sense?

You gotta love this time of the season, when the NBA trade rumor mill spins out one magnificent tale after another. Sure, some of them have about as much truth as a Grimm's fairy tale. And granted, we can never be quite sure of what motivates the leak of information, as team officials, players and (especially) their agents all operate on decidedly different agendas. Yet there are lessons to be learned in fairy tales, and it's always fun to think like an NBA general manager.

All too often you can dismiss most rumors simply with an objective look at facts. Other rumors have more traction even on the surface, and those are the ones that have a chance to come to fruition. Personal agendas aside, more often than not transactions are completed based on pure basketball reasons. So with that in mind, we'll repeat an exercise in speculative analysis we did at this time last year and try to sort out rumors that make sense from the ones that don't.

Our scuttlebutt on trades and other possible moves comes courtesy of our hardworking colleagues at NBA Rumor Central.
