The Highlanders ran in eight tries against the Western Force to secure a lopsided 55-6 Super Rugby victory.

Tevita Li kicked off the try-fest in the 19th minute and there were also scores for Aki Seiuli (2), Patrick Osbourne, Rob Thompson (2), Dillon Hunt and Richard Buckman.

Highlanders fly-half Marty Banks finished the game with 15 points from his boot.

Ian Prior's second penalty, just before the half-hour mark, had briefly given the hosts hope at 10-6 down but that was as good as it would get for the Force.

The Australian side had no answer to their visitors from New Zealand as they suffered a seventh defeat of the season.
