Former Leicester back Rod Kafer has joined Saracens in a player-coach capacity.
The Australian international was part of the Wallabies' 1999 World Cup-winning squad, and his experience will be vital to Wayne Shelford's outfit.
A delighted Kafer said: "I'm very pleased to have signed for Sarries and very much look forward to meeting up with the guys. I know a fair bit about the history and the players at the club, so not too much is new to me there.
"With Saracens I have the opportunity to try something new and different. There's a squad with much potential and I'll be seeing what we can do to help develop that potential," he added.
Chief executive Mark Sinderberry meanwhile said: "We're very pleased to be able to announce that Rod has signed for Saracens.
"During the Rugby World Cup we will have several players away and he will be very useful to us and provide excellent leadership in this period.
"In the second half of the year he will work with the coaching team and we're sure his insights to the game will be very valuable to us."
Having played in England for two seasons now, Rod is familiar with the style of rugby of here and can really offer the team something:
"I think that the rugby over here is probably more physical than back home. Perhaps this is because it's more forward orientated, and in part because of the conditions. I find the rugby is enjoyable here in the Premiership."
