Bath Rugby have announced that scrum half Martyn Wood is to join the club from fellow Zurich Premiership side London Wasps.
Martyn, 26, who was in action against Bath Rugby in Sunday's Parker Pen Challenge Cup final, has impressed for London Wasps this season in both the Zurich Premiership and Parker Pen Challenge Cup competitions. He is also regarded as one of English rugby's most promising scrum half prospects and has been an England squad member over the past couple of seasons.
Included in Clive Woodward's squad for the last World Cup, Martyn was capped on England's tour to North America in the summer of 2001 and has won two caps.
"Martyn has been a top-flight number nine for the past two years with London Wasps and he joins us with international experience for England," said Jack Rowell. "He is an ambitious player who hopes to make his mark with his new club with a view to knocking on the England door once more."
Martyn is the third of Bath Rugby's summer signings, following props Duncan Bell and David Flatman to the Rec. Martyn will meet up with his new team mates for pre-season training in July.
