Hill named Bristol coach

Bristol Shoguns have named Richard Hill as head coach as they adjust to life outside the Zurich Premiership.

Hill, who has had coaching spells at Gloucester and Newport, will join recently-named first team coach Martin Haag in the Shoguns' dug-out when their National League One campaign begins.

Hill told the club's official website, www.bristolshoguns.co.uk: "Bristol has a very exciting and talented set of players.

"I know a lot of them through the England students set-up. There is great enthusiasm amongst them and it's our job to get them ready.

"I'm looking forward to working with everyone at Bristol. A number of the players in the squad have come through the Bristol academy system and everyone is aware of the talent that has graduated through the club's ranks and the expert development they've had."
