Cardiff Blues' Canada international Dan Baugh has announced his retirement from the game.
Baugh won 29 caps and played in all of Canada's games during the 1999 World Cup. He joined Cardiff a year previously, making more than 100 appearances before a stress fracture in his left foot sidelined him for the entire 2004-05 season.
Baugh, 31, will now take up a full-time post with the Blues as assistant conditioning coach.
``Dan has been a catalyst for some excellent performances over the years at the Arms Park, and he always gave it his all on the pitch,'' said Blues head coach David Young.
``He played the game the way it should be played, hard but fair, and he became a hero to the fans. Injuries take their toll on any sportsman, and especially the way Dan plays.
``We are fortunate that he can bring his experience as a player to the field of coaching, and he has taken to it with all the enthusiasm he had as a player.''
