1976: Born November 29 in Wagga Wagga, Australia.

1994: Plays rugby league for North Sydney Bears at under-19 and under-21 level in Australia before switching to the union code with Manly, where he won New South Wales under-21 honours.

1998: Joins Gala and helps club to the double of Premier Division Two title and Scottish Cup.

2000: June - Drafted into full Scotland side just five days after arriving as an emergency replacement for Scott Murray on summer tour of New Zealand, making debut as replacement for Iain Fullarton in the victory against Hawke's Bay - 24 hours after his arrival in the country.

Then subbed for Richard Metcalfe to make Test debut at Eden Park.

October - Suffers cruciate knee injury.

2002: February - Captains Scotland A against England A in 6-6 draw at Stirling.

May - Scores first try for Scotland before becoming first Scot to be dismissed in international rugby - in the 65-23 victory over the United States.

November - Makes Scotland home debut as substitute in November Test against Romania at Murrayfield.

2003: March - Makes first RBS 6 Nations start in defeat by England at Twickenham.

June - Wins man-of-the-match award in narrow defeat by South Africa on tour.

October - Represents Scotland in World Cup in Australia against Fiji and the host nation.

2004: Returns to Scotland squad for autumn Test series after injury.

2005: Quits Scotland after 31 caps.

2006: Returns to Scotland squad for the RBS 6 Nations Championship game with England.
