LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Rams pass rusher Myles Garrett (knee) and tight end Terrance Ferguson (ankle) will not return to practice this week, coach Sean McVay said Wednesday.
Garrett has been on injured reserve since having an arthroscopic knee surgery in mid-September. Garrett played in the Rams' season opener but said after the game that he was not 100% healthy.
In early October, McVay said Garrett was "making good progress" but that the team would take it "week-to-week" when deciding when to open his 21-day practice window.
When asked Wednesday whether Garrett has dealt with any setbacks, McVay said, "Nope. Nothing that I've been told."
Garrett missed most of training camp while dealing with what McVay called irritation in Garrett's knee.
Ferguson has missed the Rams' last four games on injured reserve after spraining his ankle in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos.
McVay also said wide receiver Davante Adams had a cleanout surgery on his hamstring. Adams ruptured his semitendinosus in the Rams' Week 6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. McVay said "based on how everything went," the expectation is that the receiver will return "on the shorter end" of the initial 6 to 10 week timeline.
"I think it's probably closer to the shorter term," McVay said. "And he tells me -- which I believe -- he's wolverine, he'll heal quick and be ready to go. So he's in good spirits, sent me a picture the day of being able to walk already. So he's doing really well and I think based on how everything went, on the shorter end is what is projected."
In six games this season, Adams has 30 catches for 480 yards and four touchdowns.
The Rams play the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8.
